# How to merge PDFs without Adobe Acrobat

> Combine PDF files without Adobe Acrobat on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android — using built-in apps where they exist and a free browser tool everywhere.

You don't need a paid Acrobat subscription to combine PDFs. Here's the quickest free way on each device.

## Any device: in your browser
Open Merge PDF, add your files, drag them into order and click Merge PDF. It works the same on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Android and iPhone, and your files are combined on your device rather than uploaded.

## On a Mac with Preview

- Open the first PDF in Preview.

- Choose View → Thumbnails to show the page sidebar.

- Drag the other PDF files from Finder into the sidebar, where you want their pages to go.

- Choose File → Export as PDF to save the combined file.

You can also select several PDFs in Finder, right-click and choose Quick Actions → Create PDF.

## On an iPhone or iPad with the Files app

- Open Files and go to the folder with your PDFs.

- Tap ⋯ → Select and choose the files, in the order you want.

- Tap ⋯ (More) and choose Create PDF.

## On Windows and Android
Neither has a built-in way to merge PDFs. Use the browser method above — there's nothing to install.

## Tips

- Merged file too large? Run it through Compress PDF.

- Need to drop or reorder pages afterwards? Use Organize PDF.

- Have photos to include? Convert them with JPG to PDF first, then merge.
